The Algarve coast has
an ideal climate, said to be the best in all Europe. With about 3,400 hours of
sunshine p.a., the Algarve is one of the most reliable places on earth for
weather, and by far the sunniest region of Europe.

This table
indicates the warm and dry Mediterranean influence, moderated by the
Atlantic: not too hot in the summer (seldom over 30 degrees) and
exceptionally mild in winter. There is never a frost, in fact there is
really no winter, since the monthly average temperature never falls
below 12 degrees. The autumn is long and sunny and passes seamlessly
into the beginning of spring. The sea is pleasant until the end of
October, sometimes even longer. At the end of December there are already
signs of spring: everywhere cowslips and the first almond blossom are to
be seen. From the beginning of the year until February the region,
becomes a white and yellow sea of flowers. By March the orange trees are
already weighed down with ripe fruit and after that it remains just as
beautiful.
