OK, so your not going to ride an elephant, or get up close and personal with a Lion. Going off road in jeeps through the Algarvian interior is however great fun

Travelling in a convoy of open top jeeps  going up hills and down dales, crossing streams and traversing meadows. Enjoy the spectacular scenery of an area almost untouched by time.

The journey  takes you along winding earthen tracks to some of the most fascinating places in the Algarve. Breathe the pure air rich with the scent of herbs. Learn about the local fauna and flora. Smell the scent of the eucalyptus trees and learn the secrets of harvesting the ubiquitous cork trees.

In tiny white-washed villages where time seems to have stood still you can see some of the old customs still in practice. A visit to a local distillery where the brave can sample "medronho" - a very potent local drink (and Space Rocket propellant!!) and where you can see honey being made in the age old way.

The day typically includes a full, lunch served in a typical restaurant.
